I just bought a home theater from Sony and it’s really nice. The amplifier included is a Sony DVD Player with all the speakers connected on the back. Except there is only an output plug for the tv and there is no other plug to connect something else. Can I buy an other amplifier so that I can use the speakers with all the stuff I own(Satellite, iPod, Xbox, DVD)? Or is there another easier way?

About ten years ago I bought a home theater system from a buddy of mine strapped for cash. I bought a receiver, tape deck, five-disc player with two large speakers.

Large = 20.5″x16″x36″. They are carpeted, and have a large hole on the bottom to put a pole up into. There are carrying handles on either side, and the speakers must weigh 70-80 lbs.

The fronts are identical. Vertically, there are two circles with nipples in them (sorry, have no idea how else to describe), then a horizontal opening, then a large round “speaker” at the bottom.

There’s no markings on them on the outside, and I don’t want to tear into them too deep without knowing what I have.

The reason I want to know what to look for is because I want to sell the set-up, and need to know what I have.

Any help, websites, or suggestions are appreciated!

I recently replaced all the speakers and dashboard in my camry with new equipment(sony). It sounds amazing but doesn’t kick enough. My dad has this really nice home theater subwoofer that he gave me. Could I put that in my car? Its like a $250 sub.

I can’t figure out what that is and if the system would work okay without it. I emailed the seller who just referred me to the manufacturer’s website, where I find even less information.
